First Month of School

Happy one month of school to our Resurrection Catholic School community and supporters!

It’s been a great start to the 2022-2023 school year, as it has looked much different from the last two years, which were affected by the COVID pandemic.

We have proudly been able to celebrate our Catholic faith here at RCS on a regular basis. We continue to practice the sacrament of reconciliation every Tuesday, and on Thursday, a grade visits with Fr. Anthony Saiki in the Cathedral, where he talks about our blessed Cathedral and faith. We also pray together in the Cathedral for All School mass on Wednesday’s, and we have been blessed with the return of a student choir, which is organized by our own music teacher and St. Peter’s Cathedral parishioner, Mrs. Fran Kuzila. Our school community also welcomed a new rotating pastor to our weekly masses: Fr. Michael Lian from Holy Family. Thank you for helping us celebrate mass along with Fr. Saiki (St. Peter’s Cathedral), Fr. Peter Jaramillo (All Saints/St. Mary-St. Anthony’s), and Fr. Joseph Arsenault (St. John the Baptist/Holy Family).

During this first month, we continued the process of helping our students become learners and leaders. We just finished our Fall MAP testing, which will help our teachers gauge what our individual students need for the upcoming school year. We also incorporated a weekly morning assembly in the Parish Center on Monday, with 8th grade students leading our prayer, pledge, affirmation, and other announcements. We also look forward to completing our first “Faith Family” event in the middle school on Thursday, September 22nd.

We currently serve 321 students at Resurrection Catholic School, and we are grateful for each and every one of them and the gifts they share with our community. We are also grateful for our parent community, especially RPC, who had their first meeting on September 13th. Our next meeting will be November 8th. If you are a parent and want to be more active in your support, please stop by! We had a great first meeting with a tremendous number of parents showing up!

Thank you all for a great first month and we look forward to another great year here at

Resurrection where students grow in learning and most importantly, their faith.

Sincerely,

Mr. O’Brien

RCS Principal
