Dear Resurrection Community,
Last year, we introduced our community to The Leader in Me, a leadership framework grounded in the belief that every child is created by God with unique gifts and the ability to lead. This year, we are grateful to share the meaningful progress we have made as these principles continue to take root across our school.
Leadership Through the Habits
At the heart of The Leader in Me are the 8 Habits of Highly Effective People, which give students a shared language for responsibility, collaboration, and character. These habits align naturally with our Catholic values—encouraging students to make good choices, serve others, listen with compassion, and care for their whole selves.
This year, we have also emphasized Habit 8: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs. Through faith-filled leadership opportunities, students are learning to recognize their God-given strengths and use them in service to others, living out our call to love, lead, and serve as Christ did.
WIGs: Setting Goals With Purpose
We also introduced WIGs (Wildly Important Goals) to help students set meaningful goals and track their progress. Whether academic, behavioral, or leadership-focused, WIGs teach students perseverance, accountability, and reflection—skills that support both personal growth and spiritual development.
Leading Together: Staff Action Teams
Our growth has been supported by dedicated Staff Action Teams, each focused on
strengthening a key area of our school:
● Academic Team – Integrating leadership and goal setting into learning
● Leadership Team – Creating meaningful opportunities for students to lead
● Culture Team – Fostering a Christ-centered community of belonging and respect
Together, these teams ensure that leadership is lived daily, not just taught.
Student Lighthouse Team: Faith in Action
Our Student Lighthouse Team continues to shine as student leaders who model the habits, welcome others, and help shape our school culture. Their work is a beautiful example of Habit 8 in action—students using their voices to inspire, serve, and lead with faith.
Looking Ahead
The Leader in Me is more than a program—it is a culture rooted in faith, service, and shared responsibility. We are proud of the growth we see in our students and look forward to continuing this journey as we help each child discover the leader
God created them to be.
